About Bradley J. McCue
This is a poem that a 13 year old girl sent to us. She knew Brad from the indoor soccer arena where he worked and coached. In her letter she said that she met him one year ago and could talk to him about boys, school, her mom or life in general. He was a kind and caring person and she felt lucky to have know him." She described the pain she was feeling in a way that was so mature for a 13 year old--and wrote this poem.
Brad
I heard what had happened
I had to ask why
But before I could speak
I started to cry
The tears built up
I wanted to scream
I couldn't let go
And it wasn't a dream
When I read in the newspaper
You had made some bad choices
I thought and I thought
And I thought I heard voices
Now people are sad
Now people are crying
Because of your choices
Because of your dying
The voices were saying
Try to let go
I couldn't, I wouldn't
I felt so low
Now people are sad
Now people are crying
Because of your choices
Because of your dying
I wondered how your mom had felt
When she heard the news
I thought about your parents feelings
I wondered what you had to lose
I remember most
Of all the things
The way you laughed
What your happiness brings
Now you are dead
Now I am crying
Because of your choices
Because of your dying
